Fun ESL musical instruments classroom activity

Try this simple “Listen & guess” game to help students name musical instruments.

Act out playing a musical instrument and even make a sound of that instrument (e.g. drum = “boom boom”, guitar = “ding-ding”, piano = tapping on the desk). Have the class guess: “Is it a drum?”, “Is it a guitar?”. When they guess correctly, ask a short follow-up question, such as “Is it loud or quiet?”. After a few rounds, let confident students come to the front to act our instruments.
