Fun ESL house & home classroom activity

Try this easy “My dream house” speaking activity to get students using home vocabulary naturally.

Ask students to imagine their dream house and draw a plan of it. To help, you can write a few prompts such as: rooms, things in the house, inside / outside. When ready, have them take turns sharing short sentences, for example: “My house has three bedrooms”, “There is a big kitchen”, “I have a garden”. Then put students into pairs to ask each other simple questions about their dream house, e.g. “How many rooms are there?”, “Is there a garden?”.
