Fun ESL daily routine activity

Try this quick “Time Match Race” to get students thinking about daily routines and times of day.

Write several times on the board (e.g., 6:30, 17:15, 8:00, 13:30, 9:00, etc.). Put students into teams. The teacher calls out a daily routine such as “eat breakfast,” “go to school,” “do homework,” “brush teeth,” etc. Teams have 10 seconds to discuss and choose the best matching time, then one student races to the board to touch the time their team chose. Award points for good, logical matches. After a few rounds, switch roles so students call out the routines for the class.
