Time on your hands

Level: Pre-intermediate (A2 – B1).

In this lesson students talk about recreational activities and construct a questionnaire survey for their classmates about hobbies, sports and pastime activities.

Members get the PDF mini textbook and PowerPoint presentation.

  • Say what a ‘sport’, ‘hobby’ and ‘pastime’ are and give examples of each of these types of activity.
  • Write a useful definition of an activity and record this in your vocabulary notes.
  • Create effective survey questions and use these to get the information you want.

Notes:

For this ESL teens course, use either the PDF mini-textbooks (print out copies for each student), or if you have a projector or large screen you can use PowerPoint lessons slides. In both cases, follow the lesson through as it appears in the materials.
