Try this simple picture-based guessing game to help students use school and classroom vocabulary.
Before class, print pictures of school places and classroom scenes (e.g. classroom, playground, library, desks, board, door, windows – try our flashcard pictures here: School flashcards | Stationery & Classroom objects). Put students in small groups and spread the pictures on the desk. One student secretly chooses a picture and the others guess which one it is by asking yes/no or Wh-questions such as “Is it a classroom?”, “Are there desks?”, “Is the teacher there?”, etc. Continue until the picture is guessed, then swap roles so everyone gets a turn.
