Fun ESL jobs classroom activity

Try this simple jobs word match game to get students using job vocabulary.

Before class prepare some slips of paper to write job words on, however, only write have half a job word on each paper slip, for example: “tea” / “cher” (match to make “teacher”), “pi” / “lot” (match to make “pilot”), etc. Put all of the slips in a hat or box. In class, have each student pull out a slip of paper. Explain that they have to find a classmate with their matching part of the job word. On “Go!” have everyone mingle. When students find their match, they should shout out, “We’re teachers!”, “We’re pilots!”, etc. When everyone has found their match, have them put the paper slips back in that hat. Then play another round.
