Fun ESL adverbs classroom activity

Try this easy “Adverb charades” game to help students learn adverbs and action words together.

Choose a simple action verb (such as run, jump, walk, dance, skip). One student comes to the front, and the teacher quietly tells them an adverb to use (like quickly, slowly, happily, loudly, quietly). The student performs the action in that way while the class guesses both the action and the adverb: “You’re jumping quickly!” When the class guesses correctly, ask one student to make a full sentence: “She is jumping quickly.”
