Fun ESL months flashcard game

Try this “Match the event” game using your months flashcards.

Write on cards some well known events in your country: holidays, festivals, traditions, schedules, etc. For example, “Christmas”, “Kite flying festival”, “Start of the school year”, “Birthday”, etc. Also print out the months cards and spread them out, face up, on the table. Ask a student to draw an event card and touch the month card that the event takes place and say a sentence, e.g. “Christmas is in December”, “The start of the school year is in September”, etc. Ask some follow up questions: “What presents did you get for Christmas last year?”, “What grade are you in this year?”, etc. Continue with all your students until the event cards run out.
