Attitudes to rules

Level: Upper-intermediate (B2 – C1).

In this lesson students discuss attitudes of young people to learning. They also take part in a class debate on the necessity of school rules.

Members get the PDF mini textbook and PowerPoint presentation.

  • Read a text and about attitudes of young people to learning and discuss your ideas on the topic.
  • Formulate a set of arguments based on the topic of school rules.
  • Hold a formal debate on the advantages and disadvantages of these rules.

Notes:

For this ESL teens course, use either the PDF mini-textbooks (print out copies for each student), or if you have a projector or large screen you can use PowerPoint lessons slides. In both cases, follow the lesson through as it appears in the materials.
