Fun ESL prepositions of location classroom activity
Try this simple “Treasure Hunt” game to help students use prepositions like under, on, in front of, behind, next to, between.
Before class, hide a few small objects (toys or classroom items) around the room in obvious places (under a chair, next to a desk, behind a box, etc.). Tell students they are going on a treasure hunt! Call out a clue using a preposition of location, for example, “The treasure is under the chair!” Students look around, find the object, and when someone finds it, ask them to say the sentence clearly: “The teddy is under the chair!”. Then repeat with new clues.
