Fun ESL directions classroom activity
Try this “Classroom blindfold walk” to get students using directions like left, right, forward, and backwards.
Model first with a couple of students: blindfold a volunteer and give him/her directions to walk around the class, such as, “Take two steps forward!”, “Turn left!”, “Take one big step backwards!”, etc. The idea is to direct the student around the classroom without hitting anything. Once the class is confident, pair up students and allow them to take turns being blindfolded and giving directions.
