Fun ESL buildings & places classroom activity

Try this map talk and match activity to help students say buildings and places vocabulary.

Before class, draw (or display) a simple town map on the board with key places (e.g., school, park, post office, library, supermarket, bus stop). Give each pair or small group a set of picture/word cards from the worksheets. Students take turns picking a card and telling their partner where it is on the map using sentences such as “The library is next to the park” or “The supermarket is across from the bus stop.” Partners check and correct together, then swap roles.
