The sporting life

Level: Upper-intermediate (B2 – C1).

In this lesson students talk about sporting activities and their benefits, and express some opinions on sport. They also report on the information they uncover and explore how to do this.

Members get the PDF mini textbook and PowerPoint presentation.

  • Discuss sporting activity and exercise from possibly conflicting viewpoints.
  • Give your opinions about how this type of activity is practiced and outline some of its benefits and drawbacks.
  • Read a text and make predictions about the content.

Notes:

For this ESL teens course, use either the PDF mini-textbooks (print out copies for each student), or if you have a projector or large screen you can use PowerPoint lessons slides. In both cases, follow the lesson through as it appears in the materials.

The lesson is self-explanatory and doesn’t require any planning – just read through the lesson first to familiarize yourself with the lesson.
