A customary practice

Level: Upper-intermediate (B2 – C1).

In this lesson students talk about traditions and discuss the advantages and disadvantages of holding traditional values. They also discuss what ‘tradition’ means to them and debate the values of traditions.

  • Explore the use of words and phrases which can be used to state advantages and disadvantages of a proposition.
  • Talk about ‘tradition’ and what it means to you.
  • Hold a debate on the topic of traditional values.
