Correcting errors

Level: Intermediate (B1 – B2).

In this lesson students focus on errors in writing and present a correction code they’ll use to give useful feedback.

Members get the PDF mini textbook and PowerPoint presentation.

  • Focus on errors of form and organization in your writing.
  • Reformulate language based on feedback from teacher, your colleagues and yourself.
  • Rewrite, or edit sections of, text based on feedback you are given on this.
  • Understand a code your teacher will use to correct your written work and consider how this can be useful.

Notes:

For this ESL teens course, use either the PDF mini-textbooks (print out copies for each student), or if you have a projector or large screen you can use PowerPoint lessons slides. In both cases, follow the lesson through as it appears in the materials.

The lesson is self-explanatory and doesn’t require any planning – just read through the lesson first to familiarize yourself with the lesson.
