Fun ESL hobbies classroom activity

Try this energetic “Hobby swap talk” game to get students talking about hobbies and interests.

Have students stand up and find a partner. They take turns asking and answering simple questions about hobbies: “What hobbies do you have?”, “Do you like drawing?”, “Do you play tennis?”, etc. When both partners have asked and answered 3 questions, they swap partners and find someone new to talk to. Continue until students have talked with at least 5 classmates. For a quick wrap-up, ask a few volunteers to tell the class one hobby they learned about: “Tom likes painting.”
