Fun ESL Thanksgiving flashcard game
Try this easy “Thanksgiving quiz” game using your Thanksgiving flashcards.
Place the Thanksgiving flashcards on the board and put students in teams. Tell students you will read out very short clues, such as:
“It’s sweet”, “It’s orange, brown, etc.”, “It goes on turkey”, “People do this after lunch”, “It’s a pie”, “It’s made from corn”, “It’s the main dish”, “It’s big”, “We roast it”, “We eat it hot/cold”, “It’s meat/a vegetable/a sauce/a dessert”, “It’s soft”, “It has bread in it”, “We use it in soup”, “It’s sweet/savory/sour”, “We slice it”, “We pour it”, “It comes in a jar”, “It’s a sport”, “You cheer!”, etc.
Teams shout out answers and win a point for each correct answer. The team at the end with the most points is the winner!
